New German National Libray Law requires to archive netpublications

As of June 22nd 2006, a new law regarding the German National Library requires the library to archive any media content published in Germany after 1913 .

The new law PuTTY SSH Windows , which also “promotes” the former German Library to German National Library, clearly states that this includes everything published in Germany in public networks. It is yet unclear, how the Library will be able to fullfil this mission. In preparation for this, the library has been running a test for a web based delivery of electronic content by third parties. The author of this blog has participated in this by delivering the first issue of the CDK News to the library archiv via a very lengthy submission procedure, which seemed inappropriately long.
