			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Chemistry-Information-Computer (CIC) division of the German Chemical Society announces the 4th German Conference on Chemoinformatics (22. CIC-Workshop) to be held in Goslar, Germany, November 09-11, 2008.</p>

<p>This international symposium will address a broad range of modern research topics in the field of Computers and Chemistry. Focus will be on recent developments and trends in the fields of Chemoinformatics and Drug Development, Chemical Information, Molecular Modeling, Computational Material Science and Nanotechnology and other highlights in the field of Computational Chemistry. The scientific program will include plenary lectures, short lectures as well as poster presentations.  Furthermore, there will be a pre-conference workshop on Sunday.</p>
<p><em>I would like to highlight this year&#8217;s session on Open Access Publishing in Chemistry where we are going to investigate what&#8217;s happened and changed since our last session on this topic a few years ago.</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Workshop &#8220;Chemoinformatics in Europe: Research and Teaching&#8221; assembled on May 29-31, 2006 in Obernai, France 100 scientists from 18 European countries as well as from USA and Canada.</p>
<p><span id="more-13"></span></p>
<p>These scientists were members of a wide range of Chemical Societies of European countries such as SCF, RSC, GDCh, SCI as well as of organizations such as the QSAR and Modelling Society, Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society, and the Chemical Structure Association.</p>
<p>As a result of the workshop, a declaration calling for enhanced support for research and teaching in Chemoinformatics in Europe was <a href="http://infochim.u-strasbg.fr/chemoinformatics/Obernai%20Declaration.pdf" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/infochim.u-strasbg.fr');">published.</a></p>

<p>The 2. German Conference on Chemoinformatics will be held in Goslar, Germany, November 12-14, 2006. It will be a time to celebrate: The Chemistry-Information-Computers (CIC) division of the German Chemical Society will honor the life-time achievements of one of the founders of CIC and apioneer of chemoinformatics, Johann Gasteiger.</p>
<p>Additionally, the next GCC will be the 20. annual meeting of CIC.The program features an interesting collection of talks and posters in the following areas</p>

<li>Chemical Information</li>
<li>Molecular Modeling</li>
